A Liquid Crystal Display is two pieces of glass with liquid crystal inside. The liquid crystals are sealed inside the glass sandwich with a sealant along the perimeter. Time, and Heat, can deteriorate this seal and allow the liquid crystal to leak out. This cannot be repaired. Symptoms of a bad LCD are dark spots on the bottom of the LCD. If the Polarized Films are in bad shape, the symptom can show up as shiny white, or gray spots. If your gauge has these symptoms, restoration isnt feasible. I cant always tell by looking at a gauge if the LCD is bad. Sometimes it requires the gauge to be opened and the films to be removed. If the LCD is bad and the gauge cannot be restored, there will be no charge. I can buy your gauge for parts, offer credit toward another restoration, or I can send it back.
